Construction Questions
How long does an average fiberglass pool instillation take to complete?
The majority of our jobs are completed in 2 to 4 weeks from the time we break ground. Of course this all depends on the overall scope of the project. Some jobs are able to be completed in as little as 1 week and others have taken 4 to 6 weeks.
How do I know if I have room for a fiberglass pool in my yard?
We recommend having a straight access point of at least 12′ to 16′ wide to enable all of our equipment to access the job site and for your job to remain in our standard pricing category. Another factor to keep in mind is the size of the easements on your property and also your properties setbacks. More and more cities are also adding a maximum non-impervious area restrictions to your property which limits the amount of your property that can be built on. Every city, village, county, and home owners association has different guidelines and codes that must be met. Please make sure you have a copy of your plat of survey for our sales/design team prior to scheduling an appointment with us.
Who is responsible for the permits required to install a pool?
Once you have contracted with Signature Pools and provided all necessary documents our permit department will take care of obtaining all required permits for your pool. We will also provide you with copies of the plans that you can submit to your home owners association for approval.
As the homeowner/buyer what are we responsible for?
As a homeowner you are responsible for providing a current plat of survey for your property. A topographical survey will also be required in some instances. You are also required to take care of all fencing and landscaping if you choose not to contract that work through Signature Pools.
Does installing a pool ruin my existing sod and landscaping?
We do our best to keep as much of your existing yard intact as possible, but please be prepared to have the access area to your yard as well as the area around your pool re-landscaped after our work is complete.
Does Signature Pools install fences?
We do not install fences directly, but we work closely with several fence companies that we would be happy to refer you to.
Does Signature Pools do landscaping work?
We do not do landscaping work, but we work closely with several landscape companies that we would be happy to refer you to.
Do you hire different sub-contractors to do any of your pool installations?
All of the work we do is done by employees of Signature Pools. We do not use any sub-contractors for our pool installations. The only time we use any sub-contractors is for fencing and landscaping.
Do you sell fiberglass pool shells to homeowners for do-it-yourself projects?
Yes, we sell pool shells to homeowners for do-it-yourself projects, but we do recommend that you hire one of our construction managers to be on the jobsite the day the pool is set and backfilled. This not only assures a quality pool install, but also enables you to have the pool warranty from the manufacturer.
